I've been slacking off blogging. Work has been extremely busy with a lot of local travelling and going in and out of the office, hence, I haven't had the time to actually blog about anything. Weekends, you say? Well, my weekends have been hectic as well, with various family engagements and between Imran's gym class and my-newfound-fitness-regiment, who has the time to blog? :)
Anyway, nothing much apart from a crazy hectic routine throughout Feb and half of March, but as planned, Imran, Nanny, Mum and Aunt and myself did travel to Hong Kong and Macau about a week prior to the Chinese New Year break.
It was a wonderful trip, and Imran was surprisingly well behaved throughout the trip and seemed to have really enjoyed the trip. He was so cute, expressing how cold he was, muttering "cold, cold" whenever he felt chilly. I donned him in various cute sweaters and jackets, outfits that he could never have worn in hot Malaysia. My baby's adorable!
Day 1 - Flight to Hong Kong was at 8.55 am via Air Asia, hence we all departed for the airport at around 5 am. Needless to say, Imran went to HK in his PJs, albeit nice ones, since we could not get him to freshen up so early in the morning. The flight was slightly bumpy, but Imran slept all the way, which was great for Nanny and I, as we ourselves could get a few winks here and there.
Arrived in HK at around 2 pm, and we took the A11 bus from the airport to Wan Chai Fire Station stop. Checked in at our hotel, Holiday Inn Causeway Bay. For Imran, Nanny and I, I had booked a queen bedded room. It was small but suitable for the three of us.
After resting for about 2 hours, we left the hotel to walk around the area and stumbled upon a halal Indonesian restaurant to have some dinner. The restaurant's called Rumah Gurih Sedap Gurih but it was quite pricey, spent almost RM150 on something as basic as fried egg, fried fish, vege soup and 4 bowls of rice.
Day 2 - It was pouring like crazy and the weather forecast indicated that the torrential rain will continue throughout the day, hence, Nanny and I decided to cancel our Disneyland trip for the day and instead tagged along with Mum and Aunt on their trip around HK. We took a local bus, which was dirt cheap, but extremely uncomfortable and feels kinda crazy to do with a toddler, but we survived. Anyhow, we went around Stanley Market, Aberdeen Fishing Village and finally went round the malls at Causeway Bay.
Nanny, Imran and I went back to rest at the hotel, whilst Mum and Aunt carried on to explore The Peak. Since this was my 3rd trip to HK, with the lousy weather, I decided to forego The Peak which I've explored before anyway.
For dinner, we settled on a halal kebab restaurant (Istanbul Turkish Grills and Kebabs) we found surrounding the hotel.
Day 3 - Finally, we were able to go to Disneyland HK. Nanny, Imran and I took the train to Disneyland, whilst Mum and Aunt took the train to the Citygate Outlet Mall. We spent our day at Disneyland which has expanded significantly compared to my last trip. Imran had a blast at Disneyland, guess he knew it was his place - a place for kids - and seriously, who wouldn't be happy at the happiest place on Earth? :) It was wonderful, spending the day with Imran, seeing him enjoying and happy going on rides like Dumbo, Its a Small World, Mad Hatters Tea Cup etc. Considering he is only 18 month old, he was quite the happy camper going on those rides. He hated lining up though and would mutter and babble his way whilst waiting and every time the ride ends, he'd want to go on it again. Cute!
As it was our last night in HK, we stopped by Mong Kok station on the way back and quickly browsed our way through the Ladies Market to get last minute souvenirs etc for everyone. Amazingly and coincidentally, we actually met Mum and Aunt having dinner at a halal Indian Restaurant (Miss India) over there and took a train ride home together.
Day 4 - After checking out, we took a cab to the Ferry Terminal to take a one hour ferry ride to Macau. First time going to Macau for all of us. Imran was especially excited since he loves boats and loves water and anything that goes on water. Haha.
Macau looked slightly barren compared to HK, and our hotel which was Taipa Square Hotel was quite a distance from the main attractions of Macau. We took a cab to the Vegas-y area of Macau where The Venetian etc are, and I know now that next time we plan a family trip to Macau, we'll just stay around this area, though a bit more expensive, but extremely convenient to explore and walk around from.

We had dinner at McDonalds though we later found a halal Indian outlet at the food court. We took a walk round all the complexes there including Hard Rock Hotel and as we were drained from exhaustion, retired for the night.
Day 5 - Mum and Aunt decided to take a bus into the Old City to explore the fort and other touristy sites in Macau, whilst Nanny, Imran and I just chilled in the hotel and prepared for checkout. We got extended checkout time as our flight was only at 7 pm, and departed for the airport at around 4 pm. Arrived home late into the night after midnight, and completely zonked and drained, though happy from a well spent trip to HK and Macau.
